The film paranormal activity relates to our genre as it is a horror. This film appeals to the mainly to the 15-24 and 25-34 age groups, and partially the 35-44 age group. It also appeals more the female audience compared to the male audience. I feel this is because this horror film in particular, while being quite violent at times, has no blood or gore in it, as it is more fear of the unknown rather than continuous blood and gore like a slasher film has. I feel this is why more females watch this than males, as males usually prefer to watch films with lots of violence in. This film is to disturbing for the younger audience, and the elderly usually don't tend to go and see horror films. The upper and middle class are the largest audience for this film.
